This super simple slouch hat is perfect for beginners looking to play with some basic shaping and textures, but it's also fun for the intermediate crocheter who wants to whip up something quick and cute. Supplies: * Medium/Worsted Weight yarn * US H8/5.00mm * US G6/4.00mm * Tapestry needle (for weaving in ends) Gauge: The gauge for the Red Heart Shimmer (shown in the purple hat photo above) is 14dc x 9r = 4in/10cm using an H8/5.00mm crochet hook. Notes: * If you choose to use yarn like Red Heart Super Saver, please note that it is thicker than the medium/worsted yarn used in my prototypes and could possibly make your hat much larger than gauge. You can adjust the hat's size accordingly by eliminating increase rounds and removing some of the straight rounds toward the bottom of the hat according to preference. * Make sure you are joining directly into the top of the ch-2 at the end of each round, not into the gap between the ch-2 and the next DC. Joining into the gap will create a hole. Instructions (Read the pattern below or click here to download the PDF from Craftsy!): Begin with magic loop (click here to watch a how-to video). * Row 1: Ch 2 (counts as first DC), 11 DCs in ring; join to top of ch 2 and pull loop tight (12 sts) * Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as first DC), DC in same st, *2 DCs in next st* around; join (24 sts) * Row 3: Ch 2 (counts as first DC), DC in next st, 2 DCs in next st, *DC in next 2 sts, 2 DCs in next st* around; join (32 sts) * Row 4: Ch 2 (counts as first DC), 2 DCs in next st, *DC in next 3 sts, 2 DCs in next st* around; join (40 sts) * Row 5: Ch 2 (counts as first DC), 2 DCs in next st, *DC in next 4 sts, 2 DCs in next st* around; join (48 sts) * Row 6: Ch 2 (counts as first DC), 2 DCs in next st, *DC in next 5 sts, 2 DCs in next st* around; join (56 sts) * Row 7: Ch 2 (counts as first DC), 2 DCs in next st, *DC in next 6 sts, 2 DCs in next st* around; join (64 sts) * Row 8: Ch 2 (counts as first DC), 2 DCs in next st, *DC in next 7 sts, 2 DCs in next st* around; join (72 sts) * Row 9: Ch 2, *DCin each st aroud*, join; * Rows 10-28: Repeat Row 9 for 19 rows; join o Note: This is where you can remove rows, if needed, to lessen the amount of slouch dependent on gauge. Basically, work these rows until you reach your preferred length. * Row 29: Switch to smaller hook, ch 1, *in back loop only, sc in each st around*; join * Rows 30-34: Repeat Row 29 Fasten off. I hope you all enjoy this pattern!  If you have any photos, definitely  post them on Ravelry because I'd love to see everything you make :)  Thanks for taking the time to drop by and check it out! Quick and Thick Beginner Baby Blanket. "This pattern is a quick and easy one. I used an extremely soft merino/acrylic blend since babies have very sensitive skin. If you use a different yarn from what my pattern calls for, make sure that its machine washable since it will definitely be going through the wash many times." Crochet Hook: K/10.5 or 6.5 mm hook Yarn Weight: (5) Bulky/Chunky (12-15 stitches for 4 inches) by Diane Dagenais

Super Easy Crochet Scarf ~ This description doesn't lie. I made this while watching TV. Doesn't require closely following a pattern; once you get the hang of it, you're all set. I will definitely be making another one or two of these. ~ Gannonham Review by yy_sky

Shade-tolerant white impatiens border. Plant 12 inches apart (measured center to center). The more tightly they are spaced, the taller they will grow. For a deeper, denser border, plant one row offset in front of another, with 10.5 inches between rows. New Guinea Impatiens have better foliage and will tolerate more sun, but are still not full sun plants. If you can provide a moist soil with some relief from the sun during the hottest hours, they are an excellent border choice. by joni
