At an airport I overheard a father and daughter in their last moments together. They had announced her plane’s departure and standing near the door, he said to his daughter, “I love you, I wish you enough.”She said, “Daddy, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Daddy.” They kissed good-bye and she left.He walked over toward the window where I was seated. Standing there I could see he wanted and needed to cry. I tried not to intrude on his privacy, but he welcomed me in by asking, “Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?” “Yes, I have,” I replied. Saying that brought back memories I had of expressing my love and appreciation for all my Dad had done for me. Recognizing that his days were limited, I took the time to tell him face to face how much he meant to me. So I knew what this man was experiencing. “Forgive me for asking, but why is this a forever good-bye?” I asked. “I am old and she lives much too far away. I have challenges ahead and the reality is, her next trip back will be for my funeral, ” he said. “When you were saying good-bye I heard you say, ‘I wish you enough.’ May I ask what that means?” He began to smile. “That’s a wish that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone.” He paused for a moment and looking up as if trying to remember it in detail, he smiled even more. “When we said ‘I wish you enough,’ we were wanting the other person to have a life filled with enough good things to sustain them,” he continued and then turning toward me he shared the following as if he were reciting it from memory. “I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright. I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more. I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive. I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger. I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting. I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess. I wish enough “Hello’s” to get you through the final “Good-bye.” He then began to sob and walked away. Author Unknown by Caiteyb

Her body slams into mine and her arms wrap around my neck. "They told us you were dead!" she cries. I feel her tears wetting my shoulder. I hold her as tight as i can as her sobs fill the air. "It's okay," i whisper, "I'm here now. I'm never gonna leave you again, okay?" She lifts up her face and meets my eyes. As i wipe away her tears, she says, "O-okay." by letitia

DATE A GIRL WHO READS
by Rosemarie Urquico

Date a girl who reads. Date a girl who spends her money on books instead of clothes. She has problems with closet space because she has too many books. Date a girl who has a list of books she wants to read, who has had a library card since she was twelve.

Find a girl who reads. You’ll know that she does because she will always have an unread book in her bag. She’s the one lovingly looking over the shelves in the bookstore, the one who quietly cries out when she finds the book she wants. You see the weird chick sniffing the pages of an old book in a second hand book shop? That’s the reader. They can never resist smelling the pages, especially when they are yellow.

She’s the girl reading while waiting in that coffee shop down the street. If you take a peek at her mug, the non-dairy creamer is floating on top because she’s kind of engrossed already. Lost in a world of the author’s making. Sit down. She might give you a glare, as most girls who read do not like to be interrupted. Ask her if she likes the book.

Buy her another cup of coffee.

Let her know what you really think of Murakami. See if she got through the first chapter of Fellowship. Understand that if she says she understood James Joyce’s Ulysses she’s just saying that to sound intelligent. Ask her if she loves Alice or she would like to be Alice.

It’s easy to date a girl who reads. Give her books for her birthday, for Christmas and for anniversaries. Give her the gift of words, in poetry, in song. Give her Neruda, Pound, Sexton, Cummings. Let her know that you understand that words are love. Understand that she knows the difference between books and reality but by god, she’s going to try to make her life a little like her favorite book. It will never be your fault if she does.

She has to give it a shot somehow.

Lie to her. If she understands syntax, she will understand your need to lie. Behind words are other things: motivation, value, nuance, dialogue. It will not be the end of the world.

Fail her. Because a girl who reads knows that failure always leads up to the climax. Because girls who understand that all things will come to end. That you can always write a sequel. That you can begin again and again and still be the hero. That life is meant to have a villain or two.

Why be frightened of everything that you are not? Girls who read understand that people, like characters, develop. Except in the Twilight series.

If you find a girl who reads, keep her close. When you find her up at 2 AM clutching a book to her chest and weeping, make her a cup of tea and hold her. You may lose her for a couple of hours but she will always come back to you. She’ll talk as if the characters in the book are real, because for a while, they always are.

You will propose on a hot air balloon. Or during a rock concert. Or very casually next time she’s sick. Over Skype.

You will smile so hard you will wonder why your heart hasn’t burst and bled out all over your chest yet. You will write the story of your lives, have kids with strange names and even stranger tastes. She will introduce your children to the Cat in the Hat and Aslan, maybe in the same day. You will walk the winters of your old age together and she will recite Keats under her breath while you shake the snow off your boots.

Date a girl who reads because you deserve it. You deserve a girl who can give you the most colorful life imaginable. If you can only give her monotony, and stale hours and half-baked proposals, then you’re better off alone. If you want the world and the worlds beyond it, date a girl who reads.

Or better yet, date a girl who writes. by artsuneel

WHAT'S GOING ON? There is so much going on in the world today! Some things are so BIG and out of our control that we feel there is nothing we can do. Many who don't know Jesus Christ feel that He has deserted us. That He doesn't exist because what kind of "god" would allow such chaos and confusion. BUT we know that Jesus Christ does exist and there is power in His name! There IS something that we can do...PRAY! PRAYER is a powerful weapon! The apostle Paul wrote, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” (2 Cor. 10:3-5). We are to pray against these things going on today, it is written that things will get worse HOWEVER... THERE IS POWER WHEN CHRISTIANS UNITE AND PRAY AGAINST THE ENEMY! Even when the storms rage against us we are to be firmly planted in Him so that we do not fall. We are to be UNMOVABLE, UNSHAKABLE, STEADFAST in Him! Psalm 50:15 says, Then call on Me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you,  and you will give Me glory.” We have to know that certain things are allowed to take place but God has NOT forgotten us! This is our time to prepare for battle! Suit up in the Armor of God! For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people (Ephesians 6:12-18). We must strengthen our foundation and trust that no matter what is going on in our country or around the world GOD IS IN CONTROL! Spread the love of Jesus Christ with someone today! Show them how to Repent and pray. Strengthen your walk with Christ! Help someone else establish a walk with Him! "I love Molly. She’s so ordinary; and yet she’s not a shallow character. I love this moment because Sherlock realizes he’s underestimated her observation skills and just stands there, speechless, outdone by little Molly Hooper; and you can tell from his face that he knows what she just said is true, and he almost looks guilty that he’s been unkind to her. I love how Molly brings out the humanity and compassion in Sherlock." (gif) -I think he's taken aback that she ever thought she didn't count. by Alexa J

<3 !!This is the remarkable moment when a tiger bowed its head and placed a paw up to the hand of a small girl. Photographer Dyrk Daniels noticed the 370lb Golden Bengal Tiger had taken an interest in the child, who was leaning against his glass enclosure. As the tiger, called Taj, headed over to her, Mr Daniels got his camera ready, expecting him to snarl and bang against the glass. ‘I noticed that Taj had taken an interest in the girl and was heading towards her. ‘I thought for certain that the little girl would need therapy after the encounter and fear cats for the rest of her life. ‘I could not believe my eyes when Taj approached the girl, bowed his head and then placed his huge right paw exactly in front of where the little girl’s left hand was. ‘It was incredible to watch. Taj let down his right paw, rubbed his cheek against the glass where the little girl’s face was and moved off.’ Far from being scared, the little girl was so excited that she started clapping as she walked back afterwards towards her mother. ‘I have never seen such tenderness from such a large predator,’ Mr Daniels said. by maria.t.rogers

Taj let down his right paw, rubbed his cheek against the glass where the little girl’s face was and moved off.’ Far from being scared, the little girl was so excited that she started clapping as she walked back afterwards towards her mother. ‘I have never seen such tenderness from such a large predator,’ Mr Daniels said. by twila

twila This is the remarkable moment when a tiger bowed its head and placed a paw up to the hand of a small girl. "My husband was a sleepwalker, and since he slept naked, he would go out to dance in the corn fields. I suffered fearing that something bad would happen to him, or that he would walk naked to town and someone would see him. Even when I prayed for him I felt embarrassed with the saints because of his nakedness. That is why I asked for help to Santa Lucia, who has no eyes and hence could not see my husband. She made me the miracle and now Jose Juan doesn't get up at night and I sleep peacefully." by rosanna

“Mom, listen, I haven’t been together with Topanga for 22 years, but we have been together for 16. That’s a lot longer than most couples have been together. I mean, when we were born, you told me that we used to take walks in our strollers together around the block. When we were two, we were best friends. I mean, I knew everything about this girl. I knew her favorite color, her favorite food. Then we became six, Eric made fun of me because it wasn’t cool to have a best friend that was a girl or even know a girl. So for the next seven years I threw dirt at her. I like to call those “the lost years”. Then when I was thirteen, mom, she put me up against my locker and she kissed me. I mean, she gave me my first kiss. She taught me how to dance. She always was talking about these crazy things and I never understood a word she said. All I understood was that she was the girl I sat up every night thinking about, and when I’m with her, I feel happy to be alive. Like I can do anything. Even talk to you like this. So that’s, that’s what I think is love, mom. When I’m better because she’s here.” - Cory Matthews, Boy Meets World <3 by florence

Blast from the past
Was not every child meant to feel innocence? Was not every child meant to feel the warmth and the beauty that I felt that day for a mere hour before we strategically plotted against the ones who were to lead us away from my innocence. If we all walk deeper into these woods together the fear may not take us all. It may only just take a few. But the few that it does take it will make us stronger. It will give me wrinkles....I never thought it was possible for such a young child to develop these crows feet. The ones taking away our innocence are giving the flawless white rabbits matted hair, but I will brush it and we will walk on. And when the few birds drop from the gun shots fired we will not cower with so much fear as we would if we were alone....no. we will just wipe the blood from their wings and shut their eyes. Use their blood to make our cheeks look like we have a bit of life left in us....and keep going. Stay right by me. Keep my shred of innocence okay, Fox? Okay he says. If they strike us give them no satisfaction is our agreement. And it's our agreement throughout our whole journey through the woods. As time has past and I realize death is upon us all and my innocence was never intended to be kept safe forever...I see a light shine through the dark woods and a shout of that beauty I spoke of so long ago...a man of fear behind me shot Fox in desperation....to prove his control of a situation never controlled. A girl never meant for innocence spat in his face, picked up her friends body, and ran towards freedom. by ririi
