the style pinboard.
Made this for my boyfriend Matt on his birthday. Used dollar store mugs and a pitcher, filled them with butterscotch and it lifesaver mints at the top to look like foam. Put a bottle of grey goose in the middle because it fit best and made mini bouquets with mini liquor bottles. Super easy to make and a cute idea for a guy gift!
diy and tips
I really really like this spread. I like how the left side has a large photo but has text mixed in and then on the right there are more zoomed in and detailed photos of what is on the right. I like that it highlights the parts of the whole look of the wedding they are conveying. I want to do some of the same things on my design. I want to have the overall look of the bedroom showcased with smaller pictures of what is in the room and how I redid them/how-tos.
cute bumble bee--this totally reminds me of how when we were supposed to make things in school like this I would cut all the pieces smaller to make the baby version. Baby versions are just cuter.
random things i love
Daddy's Diaper Changing Toolbox! I saw this idea online and decided to make my own version full of practical stuff and gag gifts to give to the new dad-to-be. Ingredients include: diapers, rubber ducky, baby wipes, safety goggles, rubber gloves, baby shampoo, washcloths, diaper rash ointment, baby powder, diaper bags, tongs, face masks & ear plugs. It was a lot of fun to put together!
Oh how Jenna would love this little bird scene! (And that little bunting or banner inside.) Cute idea to make scenes in a jar for whatever your theme is you are decorating for. Or a decoration on a shelf in a kids room or family room. This is adorable but I think it would also be cute to cover the top of the jar with burlap and jute or lace or something a bit more rustic or vintage too.
I really like this diaper bag. I like the outside pocket, the rounded zipper pocket, the messenger bag look, the pockets inside... I would have to adjust that rounded pocket though because it wouldn't work for cloth diapers.
I should just start sending this to people when they ask me what The symptoms of ADHD are / what it's like to have it / how it affects my life. This is me in a nutshell. Makes you wonder how much of my personality is my actual personality and how much is from the disorder... Or is it my personality because the disorder makes me who I am... This is a Q for psych majors...
love the idea but would need a sleeping cooperative baby! :) Adoption, in love. the Gospel in a picture.. @Sarah Gerbers this would even be cute for regualr maternity. but I LOVE the adoption idea. My mother in law used to tell her boys (since both are adopted) " you were not born through my body, but through my heart"
Omelle Shoes - Felt: It seems like the big shoe trend is to make a shoe look like another piece of clothing...like these felt sleeves.
Tutorial to make little play kitchen! This is sooo cute! It reminds me of the play kitchen my dad made for me when I was a little girl.

To have the hearts look like they are coming out of the top of the box, cut a slit in the top of it. This allows you to tuck the first couple of hearts inside.
Beehive - This was a beehive for a Grooms' Cake. The Grooms' family are beekeepers. The Bees are not edible, they were ordered from a beekeeping magazine in order to look very realistic. The cake is a 4 layer marble with buttercream then the first fondant layer. Then I made 'panels' out of the fondant for the sides, in order to make it look more like actual 'boxes'. The top is just a silver cake base, but I thought it worked really well. I 'built' the base out of cake boards covered in ...
Being a sophomore this year in college, I was more prepared as to what to get for my dorm room. The rug really makes the room just pop (& we made it ourselves). The lounge chair is needed because there are going to be guests in the room. It's inevitable. The bunk beds are for more storage and room, because more room makes the entire dorm look more homey. & Of course, make sure you buy cute bedding, because that can really make or break a room as well.
This stamp cracks me up everytime I look at it so I had to go out and buy it! LOL! I love how the coloring is done here and do you notice how she made it look like they are getting a bit of a burn too? LOVE IT!
I have long loved these Elizabeth Zimmermann booties. Last year I made them with fingering weight yarn to fit my newborn baby, and they got him through his first cold winter. Recently my family received wonderful news that made me want to knit some bigger booties. My sister-in-law has been trying to adopt a baby for a long time, and this month she was finally told that there is a beautiful baby boy who needs her. He gets to come home in January and, by then, will be ten months old. His name is James, and his smile would melt an ice cube. From waiting in line to waiting for a baby to arrive, knitting is how I get through all the episodes in my life that challenge my patience. I'm pretty sure that the next three months are going to yield a whole pile of hand knits for little James!
Dora the explorer party favor bags for my nieces birthday. My sis in law made these. Super easy & cute. Topped off with "the map" inside, which had coloring pages rolled inside and binoculars too!
