The foam is hard than a blending pad, allowing you to hit only the raised areas. It will hold & distribute ink & paint better also. (It won't work well for blending ink, though, so use the Ranger foam or felt pads for this.) With paint, use a very thin layer on the foam & really spread the paint out as you are picking it up. by kim
