"I give them [Kendall and Kylie] a lot of stuff. Khloe and I used to live together for three years, and our garage was her closet. I had it made into a closet, the whole thing. So every time I'd leave the house, on my way out I would grab a bag. I'd steal everything of hers at the time. She had sweaters in her bedroom, so I'd always take her tops and sweaters. She's just always had the best stuff.”
St Simons Island; I have a picture of my grandmother and me in front of this lighthouse when I was a little girl.
I had such a nice day with my little girl--I just had to let her know. Below is the Greeks Salad I make her for breakfast almost every day. She's 13 now and she too will never be too old for Lunchbox Love!! Lunchbox Love for Kids card from Volume 11

“Four years ago I was just a guy who had a crush on a girl who had a boyfriend. And I had to do the hardest thing I ever had to do, which was just to wait. Don’t get me wrong I flirted with her...For a really long time that’s all I had. Little moments with a girl who saw me as a friend. And a lot of people told me I was crazy to wait this long for a date with a girl who I worked with, but I think, even then I knew, I was waiting for my wife.”

"as i held her hand and saw mortal life drain from her fingers, i confess i was overcome. before i married her, she had been the girl of my dreams, to use the words of a song then popular. she was my dear companion for more than two-thirds of a century, my equal before the lord - really, my superior. and now in my old age, she has again become the girl of my dreams." Pink Shabby Chic Tea Set - I always had a special tea set set up in my room when I was a little girl, so I think it'd be nice to have that little reminder of childhood in my room!

Sindy wardrobe. I had Sindy but always wanted Barbie!- My husband built one of these for my daughter when she was little. She had little hanger and hung all her doll clothes in it.
Recycling Containers with Crochet - My great grandmother made a small pouch for me from a tiny margarine tub when I was 4 or 5 years old to contain my tiddly winks (remember those?) I've always wondered what happened to it, but now I can make my own! Can't wait to try!!

Oh my! Stunning! I'm already married and was always an odd girl in that I never dreamed of the specifics of my wedding day. I only dreamed of being married. I married a military man on active duty that was scheduled for deployment so a big, beautiful wedding on a time deadline wasn't possible. I had a lovely wedding but not a fairy tale wedding. I never missed it. When I see dresses like this it sure makes me daydream though.

Tips for flying with a toddler or baby. I wish I'd had this when I took my 10-month-old on her first flight a few years ago!
Zora Neale Hurston was born in Notasulga, Alabama, which is also the birthplace of my grandmother and many generations of that part of my family tree before her. While I was doing family tree research I even came across Zora's name in the 1900 census rolls, which listed her as a 8 year old girl that year. I think this is the first color photograph I've ever seen of her.
So Sweet! " So today I was in Hallmark buying my mom a Happy Birthday card when I noticed this old man stnding in front of the Valentines card section contemplating which one to get. I decide to go over and I ask him Are you getting a Valentine's Day for your wife? in which he replies 'No my wife died 3 years ago from breast cancer but I still buy her roses and a card and bring them to her grave to prove to her that she was the only one that will ever have my heart' "
I saw this when I was 4 years old and never forgot how it looked. It was huge to a little girl. But very beautiful.
I found a fun new blog, and I had a lot in common with this girl. I liked her. And as I devoured her posts, my heart started burning with shame that I didn't do something equally as impressive as she had. And then Holy Spirit hit me hard with the conviction of this favorite sin. I didn't realize how much I was lusting for the world when I was reading my favorite blogs every single day. read more--->
This Saturday, Toby and I were riding the bus downtown, when a six-year-old girl sat down next to us. She was wearing a white dress and sparkly red flats, and her blonde hair was twisted into a braid. My first instinct was to compliment her hairstyle, but I stopped myself... I had just read the GREAT article How to Talk to Little Girls by Lisa Bloom, which encourages adults to ask little girls about ideas and books, instead of complimenting their looks. "Teaching girls that their appearanc...

so sweet!!! ~ "This is my favorite photo in the world - me and Linus, born to a dairy cow and ordered to be killed when the farmer saw he was a male (and thus useless in the dairy industry). A compassionate individual intervened, and he was brought to a sanctuary. I met him when he was a few days old and 60 pounds, and he would always try to sit on my lap. Today, 7 years young and 1500 pounds, he still tries to sit on my lap.” ~ Colleen Patrick-Goudreau
