I used my mom's machine and embroidered a set of pillow cases to give Jamie for our 10 year anniversary. I chose to use a phrase we say to each other every night. I put them on the pillows and made up the bed. He was so surprised when he saw them and thought it was such a cute idea. We both love seeing these every night before bed. YAY!!!
chipped beef on toast my mom use to fix this when I was growing up. A very cheap and filling meal. :)

This makes me so nostelgic. I remember my Grandmother's kitchen looking so much like this when I was growing up. The kitchen table is very similar to the one she had.
Favourite Places and Spaces
Under bed boxes. I used to store my clothes, joint braces and stabilizers, slippers, shoes, you name it under my bed when my youngest and I lived in a one bedroom apt., and I slept in the living room sans dresser. I used laundry baskets, suitcases, wicker basketd (does not slide well on carpet, so better to use those beside your recliner or chair you use the most.
“Mom, listen, I haven’t been together with Topanga for 22 years, but we have been together for 16. That’s a lot longer than most couples have been together. I mean, when we were born, you told me that we used to take walks in our strollers together around the block. When we were two, we were best friends. I mean, I knew everything about this girl. I knew her favorite color, her favorite food. Then we became six, Eric made fun of me because it wasn’t cool to have a best friend that was a girl or even know a girl. So for the next seven years I threw dirt at her. I like to call those “the lost years”. Then when I was thirteen, mom, she put me up against my locker and she kissed me. I mean, she gave me my first kiss. She taught me how to dance. She always was talking about these crazy things and I never understood a word she said. All I understood was that she was the girl I sat up every night thinking about, and when I’m with her, I feel happy to be alive. Like I can do anything. Even talk to you like this. So that’s, that’s what I think is love, mom. When I’m better because she’s here.” - Cory Matthews, Boy Meets World <3
Give each student colored index cards/post-its for their work space. During independent work time or group work, the students use the cards. A teacher I used to work with put red cards on popsicle sticks at the student work centers & prompted them to hold it up when they needed help, rather than calling out. Her classroom was always so quiet!
Tapas... This is my kinda food!! This is what I miss about going to see my family when I was growing up!! Eating together as one big family for every meal ☺
My mom asked me for a “formal picture” of my one month old baby, I sent her this one I laughed so hard I cried at this one!

This is literally my nightmares coming to life. As a kid, when our house creaked, I was convinced that skeletons were coming to kill me. I was imaginative, okay?!

Was not every child meant to feel innocence? Was not every child meant to feel the warmth and the beauty that I felt that day for a mere hour before we strategically plotted against the ones who were to lead us away from my innocence. If we all walk deeper into these woods together the fear may not take us all. It may only just take a few. But the few that it does take it will make us stronger. It will give me wrinkles....I never thought it was possible for such a young child to develop these crows feet. The ones taking away our innocence are giving the flawless white rabbits matted hair, but I will brush it and we will walk on. And when the few birds drop from the gun shots fired we will not cower with so much fear as we would if we were alone....no. we will just wipe the blood from their wings and shut their eyes. Use their blood to make our cheeks look like we have a bit of life left in us....and keep going. Stay right by me. Keep my shred of innocence okay, Fox? Okay he says. If they strike us give them no satisfaction is our agreement. And it's our agreement throughout our whole journey through the woods. As time has past and I realize death is upon us all and my innocence was never intended to be kept safe forever...I see a light shine through the dark woods and a shout of that beauty I spoke of so long ago...a man of fear behind me shot Fox in desperation....to prove his control of a situation never controlled. A girl never meant for innocence spat in his face, picked up her friends body, and ran towards freedom.
"I give them [Kendall and Kylie] a lot of stuff. Khloe and I used to live together for three years, and our garage was her closet. I had it made into a closet, the whole thing. So every time I'd leave the house, on my way out I would grab a bag. I'd steal everything of hers at the time. She had sweaters in her bedroom, so I'd always take her tops and sweaters. She's just always had the best stuff.”
When I was a kid my dad built shelves like this in our dining room. My mom and I would go thrifting to find the perfect knickknacks to go on them.
For The Home.
I believe in displaying family photos all over your home to help your children feel that they are growing up in a loving environment simply because they can actually SEE it all around them. In this post I also show you how easy it is to hang a wall gallery like this. #family #gallery #canvas #harvardhomemaker
Missing my mom more lately. She didn't have the things in the world to give me but she gave me all her Love, just hope one day my kids will appreciate me as much as I did my mom.
Coloring pages for adults I love the pages from coloring pages for mom. I use them when my grand kids and nieces want to color with me.
Mystery Walker. This one has saved me so many headaches! Once we are all lined up and ready to leave the classroom, I choose a name from the bucket and put it in my pocket. This is our "mystery walker'. I keep my eyes on this child while we are walking in the hall. If this child has been on his/her best behavior, he/she gets to pick a prize from my treasure box when we get back to class.
these are the kinds of ornaments my sister and I used to make when we were growing up
