This is a very clever print ad. In my opinion what makes an ad interesting to look at is the way they tell the story. For this one, Levi's has come out with a jean that is similar to a guy's but now has a fit available for women. When I first looked at this picture, I thought she was in the same pair as he was. And then when I looked closer, I saw that she has her own pair on and she is just as big as one of his legs. It was very clever to me. #M2350

The Albino Woman Here is an old cabinet card photograph of an albino woman posing with eyes closed (likely because the flash hurt her eyes) that was taken at the J.S. LoBeau Photography Studio located at 167 Blue Island Avenue in Chicago, Illinois sometime during the 1890's or slightly earlier. I don't know who she was but there is no doubt that she was a carnival or "freak show" performer.

Jane M. Bolin was the first Black woman graduate of Yale Law School and the first Black woman in the United States to become a judge. She is pictured here in July 1939, shortly after her appointment by New York City mayor Fiorello H. La Guardia, which made news all over the world. Judge Bolin retired in 1979 after 40 years as a judge - but only because she had reached the mandatory retirement age of 70. She died at age 98 in 2007.
