These task cards teach students how to multiply fractions and teach students how to deeply understand this concept too. These task cards get to the heart of math assessments by teaching students how to deeply understand what it means to multiply fractions. Math problems are presented as expressions and word problems to help students understand different contexts in which multiplying fractions apply. This is a great resource for test prep and review.$

Oh Christmas Tree: Slope Edition. This is a good tool to remember the different types of slope. I would have my students make these after we learned it in class as an activity to keep in their notebook.

You need as many Post-its as problems you will give, a Sharpie marker, and a pencil. Write the the first problem on the front of a Post-it note at the start (maybe this one is a different color). Now write the answer on another Post-it with a new problem on the underneath (in pencil). Students have to work problems and then search for the answers. Great way to get students doing math and get them up and moving!

This "Worry Tree" is a poster I would love to hang in my classroom. It is a resource I think students could refer to, when needed, to help them regulate their emotions and deal with their "problems" in an effective way. Eventually, they will be able to follow this process on their own, and develop their emotional competence - which is an important skill that underlies positive mental health (Reinke et al., 2011).

To be the first team to correctly find and solve 15 rectangle related problems hidden around the classroom/area. The catch? Students must check EACH answer with you, the teacher, before they can move on. If they get the wrong answer they get to try again. ($)

Building a classroom community is very important and is an indicator of success. Icebreakers and other activities are important to implement during the first days of a new school year. It is important for all students to feel welcome and a part of their small community which actually a part of an even bigger one. Feeling comfortable will help create resilient learners that have confidence in sharing their ideas without fear of being judged.
