Cat litter box: Get a plastic container and cut a hole in the front. Make sure the box is a little bigger than the litter container itself so that it can trap the litter inside the box. Put a foam mat at the bottom, a few hooks on the side for items such as the scooper and attach a motion light to the back. Thats it! The smell and the litter will stay trapped in the box and you will have everything you need in one spot! by priscilla

Get a paper towel and wrap your apple seeds in them. Wet the paper towel and put it in the plastic bag. Make sure the plastic bag is sealed tight, and put it in the fridge. Your seeds should take about a month to germinate but check every few weeks and wet again if dry. Your seeds will start to have little white sprouts coming out of them soon enough thats when you know there ready for planting. by lenore

Propagating tomato cuttings. Make sure the cutting you take is hairy ( I call it tomato fuzz), as these are what will turn into the roots) Cut off all the leaves except the top two or three... Plant in loose well turned soil. Mist until the soil is moist. Keep out of direct sun for the first few days. Make sure you keep the soil misted, and in a few days your cuttings will have nice little roots :) by april

The most important part of the layering is making sure the dressing and the spinach (or whatever ‘leaf’ you choose) don’t touch. As long as they stay separate, these salads can be made up to 4 days in advance and will stay fresh in the fridge with a lid on. This is one of my tricks to eating salad everyday for lunch at work. I make a few jars on Sunday night and just grab one to bring to work everyday. When you’re ready to eat, just shake it up. by purplemoon831

So why is this wire mesh attached to my pitchfork? Because I've turned our chicken coop into one big litter box. After doing this for the last year or so, I can easily say that this method is a winner. I added a 2-inch layer of coarse sand to the bottom of the coop and use my "pooper scooper" to pick up the poop. And the coop doesn't smell! That's half the battle in keeping critters away. Once a year, clean out all the sand and start over and you're good to go. by jeri

Roosting Bar with Sweet PDZ Horse stall freshener underneath - no dust or smell, & scoop poop out with kitty litter scoop every few days.... also, not a lot to throw into the compost pile except the poop itself. Don't forget to build an edge around the poop shelf hold in the PDZ. Also consider making the shelf accessable from the outside at "wheel barrow" height. by jeri

How did I NOT know this? Never boil corn again! Want to know the easiest way to cook corn on the cob? Throw it in the oven at 350 for 25-30 minutes. Thats it. Leave the husk on, it will trap in the moisture, leaving you with juicy, tender corn. The husk and silk will peel away easily once its cooked. Cut off the large end and it slides right out with no silk. by viola

I'm one of those visitors that cat owners probably dread: I can smell a litter box a block away, and I'm not charmed by a cat doing its business in plain sight of the dinner table. Any of these attempts at making the litter box more discreet will go a long way towards endearing your darling cat to guests like me...
