This photo was taken circa 1902 by John Galt, a missionary from the London City Mission, and was used to illustrate lantern slide lectures which were given to raise funds for the work of the mission. I am not a holiday food purist. When my family switched our eating habits, we carried our love of vegetables and whole grains into the holidays as well. At first, the other members of my extended family were hesitant, but after a few years, they realized that while the food was heavily loaded with vegetables, it was still delicious. The house of 1670 was burnt in 1823 and the present house was built for John Corry Moutray by John Hargrave. The Moutray family continued to live there until the death of Mrs Anketell Moutray on New Year's Day, 1975. The house and what remained of the estate was sold in 1976.
