Strip and re-stain wood furniture. I did a little research on stripping stain, and decided to try the CitriStrip spray. I just sprayed a layer onto the finish and let it sit for about 30 minutes. I came back and used a plastic scraper on most of the table and steel wool on the more detailed areas, like the legs. It came off…like butter. Use gloves. by vicki

I painted my old kitchen table with general finishes gel stain brown mahogany and homemade chalk paint legs. It came out pretty good considering in was my first time painting a large piece of furniture. Lightly sand the furniture before and after each coat. I sealed it all with a top coat of polyurethane I did about 4-5 coats on the top since it will be used more often and two coats on the legs. by vicki

OK... sprayed some no-stick spray on the baking pan you see in the picture. Browned a pound of ground beef with 1/2 diced onion and some chopped green onions. Drained it. Added about a cup of water and a packet of Taco Bell taco seasoning mix. Got a 27 oz can of "El Mexicano Chili for Rellenos" and drained them, rinsed them, pulled them into small strips with my fingers. (Fresh Poblano peppers would probably make this even better). Combined 4 eggs, 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, salt, pepper, fat-free milk (would have used whole milk but we had fat-free milk on hand) in a separate dish and whisked that all together. Added a small can of green chilis to that flour/milk mix along with another 1/2 diced raw onion and a little more chopped up raw green onion. Put a layer of chilis on the bottom of the baking pan shown in the picture. Ladel some of the egg/milk/onions mixture on top. Add a layer of shredded cheddar cheese and "mexican blend shredded cheese". Now add another layer of the chilis... another layer of egg/milk/onions stuff, another layer of shredded cheeses. I made a total of 3 layers like this. Baked at 350 for about 45 minutes, then added a small can of sliced black olives and put it on a high broil for 4-5 minutes. Let it sit 20 minutes or so and serve it up. We topped it with sour cream and some homemade poblano/jalapeno hot sauce I'd made last weekend. Oh yeah... of course I spooned in some of the seasoned/browned ground beef on each of the 3 layers, too... heh heh... kind of an important part of the recipe. One other thing... I also tore up two large flour tortillas into bite-sized pieces and added those in to the dish as I was building up the layers. by dollie

Here's what I did differently - rather than one narrow white strip down the middle, I did two strips of black/white fabrics. That way, when they were opened, they created a much wider light "middle". I used a 10" foundation block and when finished sewing all the strips onto it, I trimmed it to 9 1/2". I used 1 1/2" strips by bridgette.jons

Using Coffee to Age Paint :: When looking for a solution to subtly age harsh white paint, I decided to brew up a strong cup of coffee to brush over it. I let it sit for about 20 minutes, then wiped off any large puddles. It was the perfect way to give a slight darker tint in places. Plus it's non-toxic and rather aromatic! by agnes

I have a new obsession I like to research rabbit behaviours online (not that I needed any other reason to procrastinate online). Any movement or noise they both make is quickly followed up with a google search to try and discover what it meant why they did it and what they were trying to say to me. Roasted Asparagus with Feta - First try 11/18/13 - Did this as a Thanksgiving side dish. Delicious, and liked by even our family's picky eaters. Super easy. I make roasted asparagus for an easy weeknight dinner side dish all the time, but I've never thrown feta on it before. If you're making a large meal, like Thanksgiving, do this last. If you roast asparagus and let it sit, it'll get soggy, and the feta works because the asparagus is hot and warms the cheese up. by Hercio Dias
