so me when i was a kid.. even during my renegade years i would ditch high school and spend all day in the library instead.. LOL
My mom is 91 years old now, but through the years, when I was a kid, the best thing about Thanksgiving was the stuffing. Hers was the best I ever ate. Loaded with flavor and completely delicious. When I got married and started my own family, I made sure I had this recipe in my recipe box. I've used it all my life.
LOL.... see this all the time !!! and did this when I was in school...
I loved my Nintendo DS. While mine was also pink, it certainly didn't look this cute, but I used to play it quite a bit when I was in high school. It was a fun way for me to wind down and relax, and I had a lot of games that required brainpower, so I was learning at the same time.
Lol...good one. Wish I'd have thought of that when I was a library aid in highschool. She would have killed me...then forgave me. Ha ha
This is so true I had two come into my life 2 months before I was dxg with cancer. They were a great comfort during year of treatment even warned my husband when I was in struggling with side effects. Only have one of them still with me at age 15 he is the sick one but still hanging in their as I am.
Makes me think of my mom and how she would give me mini art lessons when I was a kid.
Tattoos I Like
YES! lol ... I once actually said that when I was walking my little brother to school cause I saw a bunch of pigeons, and my brother was like "What?!?" and I was like "It's a Directioner thing". true story. but now I do it almost all the time so he finally has stopped asking :> hehehe
Say It With A Card
When my Daughter was younger all her friends called me the Napkin Lady. Each day in her lunch, I'd draw a picture, poem or just a little love note, and include a little goodie. It got to the point all her friends were asking me to also send them notes, even the boys. I had several that I'd include, once a week, I guess they loved the extra attention. When I saw this Pin, it reminded me of it... <3
Ford Mustang my sister's boyfriend had a white mustang when I was in high school (he was one of the few in our crowed that had a car) he has been my brother-in-law for about 30 years...
“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” To this day, especially in times of “disaster,” I remember my mother’s words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in this world.” - Mr. Rogers
so sweet!!! ~ "This is my favorite photo in the world - me and Linus, born to a dairy cow and ordered to be killed when the farmer saw he was a male (and thus useless in the dairy industry). A compassionate individual intervened, and he was brought to a sanctuary. I met him when he was a few days old and 60 pounds, and he would always try to sit on my lap. Today, 7 years young and 1500 pounds, he still tries to sit on my lap.” ~ Colleen Patrick-Goudreau
When I was a kid I would outline all my crayon-colored pictures in black,....who knew there was a chicken app for that? ;-)
GHOST SOLDIERS OF ANTIETAM WILMER MUMMA THIS PICTURE WAS TAKEN AT ANTIETAM AND SHOWS A COMPANY OF MEN IN WAIT BY THE ROAD. THE MONUMENT YOU SEE IS MODERN. THE MEN ARE NOT. USED BY PERMISSION OF WILMER MUMMA, WHOSE FAMILY'S FARM WAS BURNED DURING THE BATTLE.(pinner said) . HE TOLD ME STORIES OF REBELS WHO CAME BACK FOR AN ANNIVERSARY WHEN HE WAS A CHILD AND HOW HE WOULD SPEND HOURS TAKING TO THEM. HE PASSED A FEW YEARS LATER AND WAS ONE OF THE LAST LIVING LINKS TO THE CIVIL WAR
Done! I studied Art all through high school and minored in painting in college. One of my pieces was in my father's office for years. I have a few of my things hanging in my apartment.
I love anchor tattoos. I have wanted one for years, and I love the simplicity of this one. I probably would get it a tad bit smaller though. My grandfather always loved going on the boat, and he was one of the very few people that could hold me down when things got tough, so it holds great meaning.
didnt realize this was a card holder when i decided i wanted to do one, only for valentines day. so, im thinking instead of clothespins, using all the popsicle sticks i have, and covering them with valentines ribbon...
I love studying the Bible. I’m perfectly happy to have a stack of study books by my side. I could spend hours a day reading God’s Word and allowing it to carry me through it’s passages. I don’t have time to spend hours a day in God’s Word. Instead, I’ve discovered a few tricks of “going deep” into a topical Bible study . . . quickly!
My mom told me this story when I was a child over and over. It never sank in. Years later, at a very pivotal point in my life, a dear friend told me this story once again. I often wonder if she knows that she threw a starfish into the sea that day? :)
lol everyone in my old school was like who are they and I would say OMFG you guys SUCK!! then I would get sent to detention for cussing! lol I didn't care it didn't stop me!:D
Oh the places you'll go
"Flying ant season" provided lots of fun during church when I was a kid as they flew all around us, in our clothes, in our hair and were like a carpet on the floor-squish! The Africans would catch them, fry them and eat them.
Best Performances 2015 - Benedict Cumberbatch - Benedict Cumberbatch in The Imitation Game “Both my parents are actors, and they discouraged me from the profession. But I thought their lives were so romantic.
I did loads of plays when I was at school. It was all boys, so
I got to play girls. It’s scary how epicene I was. I got the female thing down. My parents were a little worried at that point—they thought they’d lost me to the other side
of the board.”
I had a teacher in high school that said if he was ever president this would be how all inmates would spend their time. I guess he moved to Brazil.
ASL....we totally had a chart like this in elementary school..so when I decided not to pay attention to the teacher I would study the chart lol :)
random things i love
When I was going through treatments for cancer 3 years ago I learned a lot about the foods I needed to eat and asparagus was one of them. I would make this at a minimum of once a week and it is absolutely delicious. I even got my husband hooked on asparagus with this recipe.
Hey mom remember me having this poster in my room when I was a kid?
This is my first and only tattoo. I got this tattoo done on August 28, 2010.. my father’s birthday. This tattoo is actually in dedication to my mother who has never abandoned me, given up on me or let me face the world alone. My father was never there.. so this tattoo is a reminder to me that my mother is the only person I need in this world. When I was very young, my mother dedicated the song “I’ll Stand By You” by The Pretenders, to me. This is a line from the song “Even when you feel alone...
So thankful for my friends......even for years when all I did like many was work raise my kids and others with not much social life.....and they never left my side
When I was about 6-7 years old my family would camp at this state park (Fort Lincoln, Mandan, ND). I would sneak into these huts...and get into trouble for being inside without a chaperone. Even at that age I loved native American culture and just wanted to learn more. The historical museum type displays inside were very interesting to me....interesting enough to keep getting asked to leave.
