Emerald Parure Diadem~Made in 1810 by Francois Regnault for Etienne Nitot et fils of 79 emeralds and 1,006 diamonds, later the emeralds were replaced with 79 Persian turquoises. Provenance: Empress Marie Louise of the French; from Napoleon on the occasion of their 1810 marriage. Van Cleef & Arpels; purchased in 1953 and replaced emeralds with turquoises. National Museum of Natural History of the Smithsonian Institution.
