Last Sunday was the Husband’s BIRTHDAY!! So I baked him a cake, at the very last minute. And it turned out.....
How To Make Banana Bread - just baked this today; so easy and turned out delicious. I used very ripe bananas, baked at 350F for 55 minutes. Perfectly brown on the outside, moist on the inside. Also, added 1 tsp of vanilla extract and used pecans, instead of walnuts.

DIY Valentine Love Book: [my notes: made this for my husband's birthday. It was a combination of photos of us from the last 2 years + "things I love about you". I've seen him pick it up several times since then to look at it. It was so very easy to make as well!]

After making Talia's 13th birthday cake last August I was so very touched and honored to be asked to help in paying tribute to her life on the date of her 14th birthday. Although she gained her wings in July we all felt she was there with us as we honored her life and accomplishments.
Very Hungry Caterpillar! - I love how this colorful cake turned out. It is a champagne cake, filled with raspberry French buttercream, and covered in chocolate ganache.
Let Them Eat Cake
I was very attached to this cake but the birthday girl is as sweet as this cake could ever be, so it was all worth it to let it go in the end :)
Chicken Dumplings for the crockpot. This was very easy to make and had good flavor. I warmed up a mix of frozen veggies and added it in at the last minute. It was a very heavy meal so I won't make it often but for a once/winter kind of meal, it wasn't half bad
Food and Cooking
M&M birthday cake covered in milk chocolate ganache with marshmallow fondant accents. Cupcakes are chocolate with buttercream icing. Turned out so cute!!
Gymbo the clown cake - I made this cake for a friend's son who was having a birthday party at Gymboree. It was the biggest cake I've ever made: a 3-layer 12x18 cake. The baking took forever and so did the fondant Gymbo, but the rest was easy. To make Gymbo, I printed out a picture of him I found online, then cut it up by color (if that makes sense!). I traced the pieces onto the different colors of fondant, cut them out, and then pieced Gymbo
The Stockpot: Baked Rice and Beans I love how this turned out!
The birthday cake turned out beautiful! Look for my pin of the tutorial that we used. It all turned out great!
Boys and I enjoyed doing this art project last wknd... it turned out just as cute!
Cabbage soup: I made a Portuguese version of this last night using black beans and Portuguese linguica. It turned out excellent.

Made this for the kiddo for this thanksgiving and I can't wait to put him in it! Turned out so cute! I used a different fabric and pattern for the feathers and it still turned out great and I didn't sew around the turkey or feathers I just used the webbing.
Parisian Bow Cake - Parisian bow themed first birthday cake, and smash cake. The inlay stripes took absolutely forever, but I love how it turned out.

Loaded Baked Potato Salad Recipe - turned out fantastic!!!! I used Greek Yogurt instead of sour cream.
Funfetti Sugar Cookie Cake! This soft-baked, sprinkle-filled giant cookie is so much better than birthday cake!
Food I Love
Euro Pane's pear spice cake Sumi Chang was happy to share her recipe for this wonderfully fragrant, moist and delicious cake, writing that "it is a very humble-looking cake, but the taste is incredible. Originally, someone gave me this recipe as an apple cake recipe, and I baked a lot of apple cake using it. Once, however, I was out of apples, so I used Anjou pears instead. The rest, as they say, is history."
I was involved in a cookie swap at church last weekend...5 dozen cookies, and realized that this was a great way to give a cookie away as a little gift. These would be great for a classroom, neighbors or office friends. Cake decorator I'm not, but they turned out cute with the packaging anyway!
