When we begin a ritual and call in the Elements, we are inviting them to protect us and help us with something we want in life. For example, if I’m doing a ritual related to love, I may invoke Water because it focuses on emotions. I may want to bring passion to some situation in my life, and I would then invoke Fire. by Elton Menezes

I recently made the boys a "loft/fort" out of old flannel sheets that is familiar to this. I used cotton twine to hang the sheets on (instead of the poles in this pic) and used ceiling hooks to secure line. I also hung sheets on the bottom bunk too. For most of the summer I had been doing great on not yelling, on enjoying my kids and having a good handle on my anger triggers, but after some emotional upsets and long days alone with the kids I was operating on a short fuse. SUNY Geneseos cutest dorm room!, My roommate and I LOVE pink! We incorporated pink with our other must haves such as pictures and collages. We put up wall stickies that we scattered around the room that are pink and green polka dots (in different size circles) which go great with my polka dot bedspread. We also have up pink curtains and a pink string of lights to frame the window. We put my bed on risers and placed the beds in an L shape to maximize our space. , Dorm Rooms Design by lakeisha

Have you ever noticed that some Disney attractions are just better when you ride them at night? When the sun sets at Walt Disney World a whole new world comes alive throughout the parks. Most noticeably is the Magic Kingdom, each land around the park lights up the night in its own special way. The clothes that I have worn have been put on both sides of this spectrum. I don’t wear shorter skirts and shorts because I’m trying to attract men and I’m not wearing longer skirts and pants because I’m trying to keep people away or be more conservative with the way I dress. I wear shorter stuff because I live in Texas and it’s incredibly warm and humid for most of the year and I’d rather not get heat stroke. I wear them because I think that they are cute and that I feel confident in them. I we by Ana Oliva

What’s the point in all of this if we can’t be 100%? Like I said in my last post [the pain of pretending], it’s so exhausting being fake. And here I am still struggling to put my life on display for others to see authenticity. And maybe some get annoyed because they think I’m complaining or venting on the internet. That’s truly not my intention. We live in a world where everything is so inauthentic. I mean, why do we feel obligated to wear makeup to the gym where we will (should) be sweating ... by kathrine

The past few days have been extremely overwhelming for me. As a budding entrepreneur it seems I have a never ending to-do list. I have found recently that my OWN self care has been slipping. And that makes me feel guilty and out of integrity. Because I teach self care. I preach the benefits of it. I need to remind myself from time to time to listen to my own advice. . Those of us who are super sensitive empaths tend to be very outward focused. We are always scanning our environment feeling into peoples moods and energies. We are also natural born people pleasers. We LOVE to help other. Which is a beautiful thing. But it can become harmful to us when we feel guilty saying no. We feel if we say no to someone or an event or project that we are letting someone down disappointing them or worse- making them angry. We often feel that their reaction is our responsibility. And so we put ourselves last time and time again. We say yes over and over until we are completely drained exhausted and resentful. . But no is NOT A BAD WORD. No is a self-loving self-respecting responsible mature and often times kind word. We have to start asking ourselves why we always fall to the end of the line. Why we are so worried about disappointing others- but what about disappointing ourselves? I often ask my clients who are struggling to say no what would you say to a friend in this situation. Because the answer is almost always that the friend should stand up for and care for her energetic needs. So then why is it that YOU do not deserve the same is my next question. . You deserve to say no. You deserve to stand up and to take care of you. You are important and needed in this world. But if you dont give yourself the love you so freely give to others you will be stuck in a cycle of overwhelm turmoil and exhaustion. . Join me on January 26th for a potent conversation on how to care for yourself as a sensitive soul in this world. This powerful workshop is FREE and will ignite you on your path to re-connecting to the beautiful truth of who you are and to working on setting boundaries and practicing the magical word no. .
