Ok. so I saw this on the store website, did some research and experimenting, and found that an empty, cleaned out pringles can, either wrapping paper or decopage-ing it with christmas cardstock, gives you the same exact product! Susans Free Comparing Monsters - an Activity for I Need My Monster There are a variety of great language skill building activities that can be done with any book you read in your classroom. On the way to understanding complete story elements and construction students need to be able to describe characters and settings and to compare and contrast two or more of each. I usually begin a discussion of comparing and contrasting by having students use two shirts they can see in the classroom at the time two students; anything they can visually reference and find familiar. We then apply the same skills to comparing the characters in the book. A great book for comparing and contrasting is I Need My Monster by Amanda NollandHoward McWilliam I created this comparison chart for a student of mine. I hope you find it helpful too. X-Ray Craft I drew a skeleton with white crayon on white card stock during "Xx" week, because all there is to talk about is x-rays and xylophones. Anyhow, I did 22 of those (OW!), then we had the kids do watercolors. Ours struggled a bit with the right ratio of water--too much and the color wasn't bright enough, to little and it covered up the crayon. But it was very cute to hear them get excited when they could see their bones! by may
