Re-purpose brooches in your jewelry box, or pick up a few at flea markets or on eBay.To create, pin several brooches, arranged in a bib-like formation onto a piece of felt. Outline the bib shape with chalk and cut out around the brooches. You may need to sew a few stitches on the backside of the felt if brooches are weighing down the fabric, as you want them to lay flat. Flip over necklace base and sew a chain onto the back. Use a new chain or opt for one from an old necklace for an extra special touch.P.S.- Here’s to a happy, healthy & crafty 2012!

A 98 year-old Polish woman named Irena Sendler recently died. During WWII, Irena worked in the Warsaw Ghetto as a plumbing/sewer specialist. Irena smuggled Jewish children out; infants in the bottom of the tool box she carried and older children in a burlap sack she carried in the back of her truck.
She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers wanted nothing to do with the dog, and the barking covered the kids’ and infants’ noises. Irena managed to smuggle out and save 2500 children. She eventually was caught, and the Nazis broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely.
Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar buried under a tree in her backyard. After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived and reunited some of the families. Most had been killed. She helped those children get placement into foster family homes or adopted.
Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize. She was not selected. Al Gore won - for a slide show on Global Warming

The first PlayStation controller that was completely wireless came out in 2006 with the PlayStation 3, and the new controller will also be wireless too – a common trend for all gaming consoles in our modern technology! The top selling PS3 game sold over 7.3 million units – Gran Turismo 5! Will a new Gran Turismo come out soon for the PlayStation 4? Since it was originally released, the PlayStation console sold 120.49 million consoled, the PlayStation 2 console sold 150 million units, and the PlayStation 3 console sold 57 million units. This new console releasing in 2013 may be what PlayStation needs to bring their sales back up with a new console, better features, faster hardware, and top of the line technology.
