have to try this sometime: flat iron braid for instant waves but be sure to do larger braids (5-6 total over your whole head), and braid them LOOSELY. run over with a flat iron a few times, spritz with hairspray, then let your hair cool off (try braiding before applying your makeup or getting dressed, the longer the braids sit after ironing, the better it will hold). by Miranda_Nichols

My new favorite way to create bouncy, natural looking waves - Split damp hair into two sections, twist each section (the tighter the twist, the tighter the wave), twist the sections around each other if desired (will make it wavier), then let it dry - My bf LOVES it when I do my hair this way :) by sally tb

Sailor's knot braid: Four strand braid. 1) Divide hair into 4 sections and number them 1-4 from the left. 2) #1 over #2, #3 over #4. 3) #4 over #1. 4) Re-assign the numbers so that the section on the leftmost (originally #2) becomes #1. 5) Repeat from step 2. Love this braid! by leila

DIY: Split and braid your hair into two sections and tie with a rubberband. Twist the braid away from your face and then twist the flat iron onto your hair in the same direction your hair is twisted. Do not touch rubberband or else you will get that weird crease. Repeat this process twice! After hair is cooled, then take them out and run your fingers through the braid. Saw this on Rachel Ray Show. It gives you nice beachy waves! by reyna

Take a bunch of broken, neglected crayons...unwrap those suckers and break 'em up even more. I found this silicone gingerbread man/little people mold in the cake/candy section at Joann's. (I've been told Target has some fun molds in the $1 spot too!) Bake them at 250 degrees for about 10 minutes. (Check on around 8 minutes and use a tooth pick to break up bubbles) Once they are all melted, remove from the oven and let cool. This happens pretty fast (15 minutes or so) POP 'em... by lakisha
