Johnny Cash and June Carter on their wedding day, March 1, 1968.  Their marriage lasted 35 years.  When June died in 2003, Johnny was devastated. At her funeral, Johnny had to be helped from his wheelchair to view his wife’s face one last time.  At a family gathering, he said, “I don’t know hardly what to say tonight about being up here without her.  The pain is so severe; there is no way of describing it.”  Johnny Cash died less than four by janis

"Was there a secret to your marriage?" "I don’t know if there was a secret. I don’t know what you’d call a secret. I think we - from the first moment I saw her I fell in love, and it lasted until the day she died. That’s something. That was the secret: I just fell in love with her...” ~ Mel Brooks when asked about his forty-one year marriage to Anne Bancroft by lemai13

A Jewish girl from Piaski, deported to Belzec in March 1942. She was the fiancée of Josef Honig, a survivor from Piaski ghetto. Honig could escape from the transport to Belzec. In the same transport she was deported to the camp, where she perished. Mr. Honig died in June 2003. His widow arranged his archive and found this photo. Although Honig mentioned her name years ago, nobody knows her name today. She stands for all victims who perished in Belzec. by krystal

This headstone is located at the Recoleta Cemetery in Argentina. What’s unusual about it? The man sitting in his sofa looking serious into the horizon and a woman is seated in another one, in his back, but they are looking into opposites sites. Heath, Ohio 1969. To J. Curtis, the water at the crossing seemed shallow enough for the family car to cross safely—it was only a few inches deep—yet in the middle of the crossing the car died. Curtis was about to get out when his 3yo daughter began screaming. His wife couldn’t console her, & their 7yo, taking pic after pic w/her camera, screamed, “The drippy people! They want in! Don’t let ‘em in!” This pic is the best of 3 showing the ‘drippy people.’ "Passing Strange-1910-2013" by macie_sloan
