I want to have an open relationships with my students and I want them to feel safe discussing any topics, including the more difficult ones like race, culture, religion, etc. I think this saying hanging in the class will foster that idea and is a good way to show your students you are a person always willing to learn and be there for them. This is part of creating a prosocial environment, as our text described in Chapter 4.
I put this together for our Brownies at last week's meeting. They started by making little booklets about Juliette Low as a way to learn about her (I'll be posting those here too). Then, they made these to give out to all of the other levels in the troop as birthday presents, along with cupcakes. Counts toward the Brownie Girl Scout Way badge, and they had a lot of fun with it!!

"It came to me that everytime I lose a dog, they take a piece of my heart with them, and every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the component of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are."
Just took measurements for our new "drop zone." This is the 2nd version I've seen of a garage entry way for those of us who can't have our dream mud room. I'm thrilled to redo our lil space coming in from the garage. I'll label the baskets with names, so mittens, hats, etc stay organized.
Berlin - Auf der Pfaueninsel(Peacock Island)--I would love to go here again! Everytime I visited Berlin in the past, we would make a point of visiting this little island, with it's own little castle ruin and peacocks(!) roaming around.

“…he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6, NIV) Sometimes when God is doing a work in our lives, it can begin to feel a little uncomfortable. We may encounter people who are hard to get along with or have circumstances that seem beyond our control. When this happens, instead of complaining, getting sour or trying to change everything around you, why don’t you look deep inside and say, “Lord, thank You for doing a work in me.” See, I’ve learned that God is more interested in changing me than He is in changing my circumstances. If I choose to stay sour because I’m not getting my way or discouraged because things aren’t happening on my time table, that’s going to keep me right where I am. If you want to see change, if you want to see God open up new doors, the key is to bloom right where you’re planted. You can’t wait until everything gets better before you decide to have a good attitude. You have to be the best that you can be right where you are. When you bloom where you’re planted, you’re allowing God to work in you, and He will be faithful to complete what He’s started in you!
God is my strength!
This is it! I finally found the exact look I was going for in our soon to be new mudroom entrance! Of course this look comes from the Presidential Suite at the Four Seasons...while money is no object there, I will be replicating this look with style on a budget! Whoohoo!
