I do this: Keeping squash from getting out of control. Some gardeners are afraid to grow summer squash in a small space - not me, though. Whether it's yellow crookneck or zucchini, it's only got a 2' x 2' space alotted to grow in if it wants to grow in my garden. Upside down tomato cages are used to keep the leaves from sprawling out everywhere, which is quite effective - at least in my experience. IDaily attention is needed to make this happen though, as the leaves must be kept inside by mel01

If the sling completely covers the fruit, it provides protection from insects. In addition to saving space, trellising improves air circulation and helps prevent by TamidP

Vertical gardening - it maximizes your harvest, makes the most of limited space, doesn't require lots of bending, and keeps your veggies away from pests and rot. This easy-to-assemble kit lets you grow vertically vining plants either against a wall, or as a free-standing unit using your own posts. Takes up just four square feet of growing space but produces more vegetation than a 24 square foot plot! Perfect for tomatoes, pole beans, cucumbers, or any vining plants. by mel01
