GREAT idea to use with AR! When students finish a book and test with 80% accuracy or better, they get to pick a sucker! Some of these suckers have black dots on the ends of the stick. If they are lucky enough to pull out one of those, they get to pick from the treasure box or another sucker. Easy & FUN to do! Could work in a junior high with a homework pass or simply extra credit. Like the HW pass or extra credit idea! by rita

You put an item in the mystery bag and then have the kids take turns asking questions to try to narrow down the possibilities. It is great to develop deductive reasoning skills. (You could also do this with sticky notes all week and "reveal" it on Friday. Have a separate piece of paper where students place their questions throughout the week. As you have time, move their questions to the "Yes" or "No" side. It will generate excitement all week long.) by tamara

When my high school students ask a question no one in the class knows (including myself), they can put it up on the Google Board. Students can bring back a written answer to one of the questions of their choice each week for extra credit, or whatever incentive you choose. They get really excited when a question comes up that they can put on the board and find out the answer to later...this is a GREAT idea! by ofelia

On scraps of paper write down different objectives for kids to conquer! Then, wad up the scraps to make a ball. Have kids sit in a circle and turn some music on. Kids pass the ball clockwise until the music stops. The one holding the ball has to unwrap a piece of the scrap paper from the ball. The teacher gives the child a word or question and the player answers. For example, what part of speech is it?! If the player answers correctly he stays in the game. by jeanie
