The past few days have been extremely overwhelming for me. As a budding entrepreneur it seems I have a never ending to-do list. I have found recently that my OWN self care has been slipping. And that makes me feel guilty and out of integrity. Because I teach self care. I preach the benefits of it. I need to remind myself from time to time to listen to my own advice. . Those of us who are super sensitive empaths tend to be very outward focused. We are always scanning our environment feeling into peoples moods and energies. We are also natural born people pleasers. We LOVE to help other. Which is a beautiful thing. But it can become harmful to us when we feel guilty saying no. We feel if we say no to someone or an event or project that we are letting someone down disappointing them or worse- making them angry. We often feel that their reaction is our responsibility. And so we put ourselves last time and time again. We say yes over and over until we are completely drained exhausted and resentful. . But no is NOT A BAD WORD. No is a self-loving self-respecting responsible mature and often times kind word. We have to start asking ourselves why we always fall to the end of the line. Why we are so worried about disappointing others- but what about disappointing ourselves? I often ask my clients who are struggling to say no what would you say to a friend in this situation. Because the answer is almost always that the friend should stand up for and care for her energetic needs. So then why is it that YOU do not deserve the same is my next question. . You deserve to say no. You deserve to stand up and to take care of you. You are important and needed in this world. But if you dont give yourself the love you so freely give to others you will be stuck in a cycle of overwhelm turmoil and exhaustion. .
