I have a dear friend who uses this term all the time and it drives me MAD! When she uses it, I know she's NOT fine, and I've begun challenging her on it, telling her she doesn't have to be a freaking stoic, that she can admit she's afraid, angry, hurt, whatever; that life sux, but that she'll go on with it anyway. Life is NOT always fine and doesn't HAVE to be.
On the backside of nowhere, being faithful with the small with which she’s been entrusted, there’s an underdog. She can't see it but she's learning how to face her fears…and defeat them. She's learning how to trust God in a world where talent most often trumps trust. And even though she can't see it yet, that underdog is in training to take out a Goliath... Here's encouragement for all the underdogs in our midst.
I'm becoming a better ME!! For weeks now I haven't been able to run because of my knee. So as my doctor advised I followed her instructions and I've been walking. I'm excited to report that today I was able to do my 2.5 miles with me running half of it without any pain or swelling. Yayyyy ME!

Amazing memoir from a Holocaust survivor with a beautiful twist at the end! Gerda Weissman Klein epitomizes the survivor. I heard her speak a few years back and she was just awe-inspiring to listen to. It's been a while since I read it but I probably will again in the near future!
