1: Ask students to gather any necessary review materials such as textbooks and class notes 2: Give each student a sheet of plain paper and six Post-it Notes. Students will also need a pencil. 3: Challenge students to create relevant quiz questions on each of the Post-it Notes, then stick them on the sheet of paper. You need as many Post-its as problems you will give, a Sharpie marker, and a pencil. Write the the first problem on the front of a Post-it note at the start (maybe this one is a different color). Now write the answer on another Post-it with a new problem on the underneath (in pencil). Students have to work problems and then search for the answers. Great way to get students doing math and get them up and moving!

Blubbr.tv is a cool web tool that allows users to create quizzes around YouTube videos. These are basically interactive video quizzes ( called Trivs ) that you can create for your students and which they can answer while they watch the selected video clip. The quizzes are also feedback supported meaning students will get feedback as they answer each question. www.blubbr.tv

When my high school students ask a question no one in the class knows (including myself), they can put it up on the Google Board. Students can bring back a written answer to one of the questions of their choice each week for extra credit, or whatever incentive you choose. They get really excited when a question comes up that they can put on the board and find out the answer to later...this is a GREAT idea!

Ice breakers: I love these get-to-know-you questions for the first days of school. Middle School grades. Could put these all in a box and have students draw out the question they have to answer. Or put them on the board and have kids shoot basketballs at the ones they want to talk about.

Math bulletin board-by now your students should learn the number of ways you can say a problem or ask for a solution - this is a fun way to do that. First have them choose or you choose one of the four operations, then have them show you which of the quadrants applies to that operation and have them select one of the words within the quadrant and use it properly in a problem.
