Leonardo - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle - Cake is carved from chocolate mud cake (shell and torso), chocolate buttercake (legs) and my own chocolate rice krispy recipe (head and arms). Entire shape covered in chocolate ganache underneath coloured fondant. Bandana over shoulder strengthened with cellogen (gel) powder. 'Hoot' - This is based from a children's program in Australia called 'Giggle & Hoot' Chocolate cake with Buttercream coloured filling and fondant details. Hoot and the chest of drawers are made with rice crispy treats.
Beehive - This was a beehive for a Grooms' Cake. The Grooms' family are beekeepers. The Bees are not edible, they were ordered from a beekeeping magazine in order to look very realistic. The cake is a 4 layer marble with buttercream then the first fondant layer. Then I made 'panels' out of the fondant for the sides, in order to make it look more like actual 'boxes'. Other Cakes - Showpiece I made for my debut as a new member of Culinary Team Finland. This was over 2 feet tall. The birch stump and magpie were made from rice krispie treats and covered in fondant and modelling chocolate. The fairy and flowers were all made from gumpaste.
Princess castle - I made this cake for Princess Anabelle, 3 years old. The cake is vanilla with buttercream and fresh strawberry filling covered with fondant. The top part of the castle is fondant that I let dry so it can hold by itself on the cake. The details are also fondant. A real girly cake!

Made for the 2014 Washington State Cake Show. The corals are made from fondant and gum paste. Most were hand molded but I did use silicone molds for some of the bigger ones. The octopus is RKT and modeling chocolate, all molded by hand. The awesome pier cake stand was made 2 days before the show by my amazing hubby.
