“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” To this day, especially in times of “disaster,” I remember my mother’s words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in this world.” - Mr. Rogers by kristi

Top 10 - Knifemaking... Knives are a major “gateway drug” for many a young maker. They were for me, certainly. One of the first things I ever remember being proud of making was a cocobolo replacement handle (mounted with homemade “mosaic” pins) to repair my mother’s favorite paring knife. (Coincidentally, both skills are covered in this round-up.) by debra

Dandelion, to me, is one of the more important spring herbs we can get to know. The different parts of dandelion will support the health of poultry in many different ways as I have found through my years of experience using it with poultry. The dandelions are proficient right now in my environment, and probably in yours as well. It is so common, that I think people tend to overlook it. I encourage you to get to know this herb better, especially for what it can do for you flock. by allisonn

I wished I could go there so many times... especially just after you died, sweet love. But, I can't. I have to stay here and figure out how to live without your physical presence. This is the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I love you so much and miss you with every fiber of my being. by susana

FONTS AND SAYINGS
The past few days have been extremely overwhelming for me. As a budding entrepreneur it seems I have a never ending to-do list. I have found recently that my OWN self care has been slipping. And that makes me feel guilty and out of integrity. Because I teach self care. I preach the benefits of it. I need to remind myself from time to time to listen to my own advice. . Those of us who are super sensitive empaths tend to be very outward focused. We are always scanning our environment feeling into peoples moods and energies. We are also natural born people pleasers. We LOVE to help other. Which is a beautiful thing. But it can become harmful to us when we feel guilty saying no. We feel if we say no to someone or an event or project that we are letting someone down disappointing them or worse- making them angry. We often feel that their reaction is our responsibility. And so we put ourselves last time and time again. We say yes over and over until we are completely drained exhausted and resentful. . But no is NOT A BAD WORD. No is a self-loving self-respecting responsible mature and often times kind word. We have to start asking ourselves why we always fall to the end of the line. Why we are so worried about disappointing others- but what about disappointing ourselves? I often ask my clients who are struggling to say no what would you say to a friend in this situation. Because the answer is almost always that the friend should stand up for and care for her energetic needs. So then why is it that YOU do not deserve the same is my next question. . You deserve to say no. You deserve to stand up and to take care of you. You are important and needed in this world. But if you dont give yourself the love you so freely give to others you will be stuck in a cycle of overwhelm turmoil and exhaustion. . Join me on January 26th for a potent conversation on how to care for yourself as a sensitive soul in this world. This powerful workshop is FREE and will ignite you on your path to re-connecting to the beautiful truth of who you are and to working on setting boundaries and practicing the magical word no. .
