Frustrated Choice Board- This is a choice board for students who have the tendency to display inappropriate behaviors when they are frustrated. this would be helpful to have accessible to students when they begin to escalate. It's great for students who are verbal or non-verbal, as the visual cue helps them to make a better decision. by Felicia R Willis

This is a great reading chart to have in any grade, including 4th - 8th grade classrooms! It is a chart that talks about goals students have for their reading and when they achieve different steps they can move up on the poster. I think it would be a great incentive in the classroom for kids to want to read more! I would probably make mine a little more colorful and creative, but I love the idea! by MOSCARDO

Flexible seating arrangement | Many students have difficulties sitting still. I have been in many classrooms where there are special seats for students who need a change. Flexible seating arrangements allows students to move around, try and new seat so they are able to readjust and start learning again! This could be a great classroom job chart idea. It is creative and will draw the attention of the students. I can't think of any reasons as to why this would be a bad idea. Yes, it would take time, but if done right then you can use it for a long time. by ofelia

I like my whole group clip chart, but I wonder if this would help a kid who is really struggling with behavior, to have his/her own. Or maybe a black and white copy of it that they can color in where they are at. It could have four copies of the chart too to show where they were throughout the day but breaking the day into fourths. Susans Free Comparing Monsters - an Activity for I Need My Monster There are a variety of great language skill building activities that can be done with any book you read in your classroom. On the way to understanding complete story elements and construction students need to be able to describe characters and settings and to compare and contrast two or more of each. I usually begin a discussion of comparing and contrasting by having students use two shirts they can see in the classroom at the time two students; anything they can visually reference and find familiar. We then apply the same skills to comparing the characters in the book. A great book for comparing and contrasting is I Need My Monster by Amanda NollandHoward McWilliam I created this comparison chart for a student of mine. I hope you find it helpful too. Just drag it to your desktop and print. Have fun and Keep on Talking! Find me at Kidz Learn Language by graciela
