#travelcolorfully “we wanted to evoke that bygone era when air travel was a bit more glamorous than it is today. but the really great thing about this picture was that it was taken on a set that was originally built for the hilarious [1980] movie airplane! we had a lot of fun while we were shooting, trying to remember lines from the film—like ‘i am serious…and don’t call me shirley’—so it was a very charming day. some photographers feel that they get better pictures if they’re being forceful, but i find i take my best pictures when people are having a good time. ” —chris craymer by kenya

The past few days have been extremely overwhelming for me. As a budding entrepreneur it seems I have a never ending to-do list. I have found recently that my OWN self care has been slipping. And that makes me feel guilty and out of integrity. Because I teach self care. I preach the benefits of it. I need to remind myself from time to time to listen to my own advice. . Those of us who are super sensitive empaths tend to be very outward focused. We are always scanning our environment feeling into peoples moods and energies. We are also natural born people pleasers. We LOVE to help other. Which is a beautiful thing. But it can become harmful to us when we feel guilty saying no. We feel if we say no to someone or an event or project that we are letting someone down disappointing them or worse- making them angry. We often feel that their reaction is our responsibility. And so we put ourselves last time and time again. We say yes over and over until we are completely drained exhausted and resentful. . But no is NOT A BAD WORD. No is a self-loving self-respecting responsible mature and often times kind word. We have to start asking ourselves why we always fall to the end of the line. Why we are so worried about disappointing others- but what about disappointing ourselves? I often ask my clients who are struggling to say no what would you say to a friend in this situation. Because the answer is almost always that the friend should stand up for and care for her energetic needs. So then why is it that YOU do not deserve the same is my next question. . You deserve to say no. You deserve to stand up and to take care of you. You are important and needed in this world. But if you dont give yourself the love you so freely give to others you will be stuck in a cycle of overwhelm turmoil and exhaustion. . Join me on January 26th for a potent conversation on how to care for yourself as a sensitive soul in this world. This powerful workshop is FREE and will ignite you on your path to re-connecting to the beautiful truth of who you are and to working on setting boundaries and practicing the magical word no. . The one before the 1, the Nike Air Max Zero was born from the original sketch that gave birth to one of the sneaker world's best loved dynasties. Inspired by a trip to the Pompidou Centre in Paris and a desire to show the world just what they were doing with those bags of air, legendary designer Tinker Hatfield sketched out the first ever Air Max design, an innovative, forward thinking piece of footwear that was way before it's time, having to pare back that idea in order to create what would eventually become the Air Max 1. After joining forced with current Nike designer Graeme McMillan in the wake of last years Air Max day, Hatfield was given the opportunity to bring that sketch to life, drawing on some of Beaverton's best contemporary tech and creating this impressive new addition to the Air Max family. Constructed with mesh and no-sew hyperfuse uppers, the Zero is constructed with a huarache-esque cuff, stabilising heel band and sits on a lightweight, yet incredibly comfortable Ultra outsole playing host to the bubble that inspired the whole thing. BREAKTHROUGH | according to the Cambridge dictionary, it is a sudden solution of a problem leading to further advances. So here is my personal breakthrough #novembertalks : At the age of 4 I realised that it was easier for me to sketch down what I think, rather than explain it with words. This was the birth of me as a visual thinker and communicator. Ever since I felt that my strongest way to communicate happened through drawing. "Maybe I’m peculiar but to me he isn’t dead. When I never saw him for years before he died I thought, “Oh well, he’s living in New York and I just haven’t seen him in a while.” It’s kind of still like that. Ok, the physical body falls off, but the soul lives on, we’re going to meet again. It was a terrible thing that his death occurred and it made me feel terrible at the time, but in retrospect life is just shadows, we are just shadows on this sunny wall and that’s all it is." It has to be really, really bad before most of us complain about the pain. The constant, chronic pain we live with - no, we very seldom, if ever, talk about it. Compare that to a healthy person who gets some kind of pain (headache, toothache, etc.) for just a couple of days. They're quite vocal about it. by lillie
