Not so long ago, I started being aware of the chemicals used for the fruit and vegetables I eat, before they get to the supermarket.Bananas go through a  ripening process  - which is supposed to “awaken” them and make them yellow quicker, but isn’t that great for our bodies as it is used with Ethylene or Calcium carbide. These green bananas grow naturally, it might take a while to ripen and they usually don’t get that great yellow color, but they taste real good. by keren

Artists or works of art that have moved me: The fact that people break down and cry when confronted with my pictures shows that I can communicate those basic human emotions.. the people who weep before my pictures are having the same religious experience I had when painting them. by mrs. sparkle

This is my first tattoo, done in early 2009. Its a play on words, that I literally wear my heart on my sleeve. You cant really see them anymore (thankfully), but the tattoo is covering old self-injury scars. I designed the original, but my tattoo artist, Derek, created this for me based on my picture. I had a wonderful experience. Done at 5-7-0 Tattoo in Wilkes-Barre, PA. by Janny Dangerous

New year = new you!  Sparkle and shine for a fete that’s finer then fine this New Year’s Eve.  Expect jaws to drop (along with the ball) while you ring in 2012.  Get inspired by over-the-top glitz and glam for a decadent DIY stunner. Re-purpose brooches in your jewelry box, or pick up a few at flea markets or on eBay.To create, pin several brooches, arranged in a bib-like formation onto a piece of felt. Outline the bib shape with chalk and cut out around the brooches.  You may need to sew a few stitches on the backside of the felt if brooches are weighing down the fabric, as you want them to lay flat.  Flip over necklace base and sew a chain onto the back. Use a new chain or opt for one from an old necklace for an extra special touch.P.S.- Here’s to a happy, healthy & crafty 2012! by DaisyCombridge

Hey all,My name is Jenn…  I’m the creator of the “Big Is Beauty Project” on Youtube.I took this picture about a year ago, right after I had surgery.I took it to prove a point.  If someone of say, a size 2 were to have taken this picture - it would be beautiful and artistic.  If someone of my size takes a picture like this, nothing but negative comments are written about it.  Is this right?  No.  It’s not.  Who are you to tell me I can’t be beautiful and artistic? Don’t be afraid of what others have to say.  If you like your body and want to share it with the world - GO RIGHT AHEAD!!!!Get to know someone before you judge them.  You have no right making other people feel like crap just because you don’t like the way they look.I struggled with body image my entire life, and just recently over the past few years have come to terms with the size of my body. It is possible to love your body, yet hate it at the same time.  But, when the hate starts overpowering the love - you need to make a change.  You can either try and change how you look, and transform your body into something that you’ll adore…  Or, you can learn to accept and love the body that life has given you. You’ll never be perfect.  Nobody is perfect.  Nobody can say that they love absolutely everything about themselves.  Learn to take something negative, and change it into something positive.t’s okay to be fat. Just as it’s okay to be skinny, white, black, gay, bisexual, straight, whatever. You’re you, and you are beautiful no matter what.Everybody is different, every body is different.[Exerpts from my blog; http://missbigbeauty.tumblr.com]BE BRAVE! JOIN THE REVOLUTION! by Nessa
