Ahead of time, write several vocabulary words on sticker labels. Put a word on each child's back so that they can't see what their word is.They have to ask their classmates questions to figure out what word is on their back.
The more you write, the better you get and the easier it gets to write. So - just write description, about what you see, feel, think... experience, sense.

Study Strategy for Vocabulary - Students write terms neatly/draw quick picture (30 secs). Use markers to make it FUN! Write definition on the right. Teach students how to study by folding paper in half lengthwise. ("Look at the picture & word. Do you remember the definition? Look on the other side. Are you right?") Keep to study throughout year. This is so silly... BUT how fun to have a mouse door or "elf" door in your classroom. This way when pencils (or anything else) go missing you can blame the little elf who lives in the wall. Students could draw a picture of him, write a story about him...all from a little sticker on the wall.
